Unbelievable for the price. Truly a diamond in the rough.
Best bang for your buck! Great machine. Cables are smooth. Smith machine is also very smooth. I previously had a cheaper machine. Whenever you used the smith, the entire rack would shake. With this machine, it is very solid. This will lasta very long time.
Do not waste your money on a name. As someone who has worked in weight rooms as a high school football coach for 20 years, this is a durable piece of equipment that will give you everything you need and more.
I had done a TON of research, multiple racks with a smith/cable system, watched Luke's garage gym review and others. After about a month of research decided to order the Echo Strength Half Rack/Smith/Functional Trainer w/ Storage.
Product quality - 5 stars (very sturdy, no defects observed, high quality)
Smith Bar - it is a true 45lb barbell (usually commercial gyms are 15-35lbs, but this one is truly 45lbs)
Cable weight system - very smooth, no issues
Storage component - loved the peg board and shelving, highly recommend to add that as it helps with attachments
Bundle combo (plate pegs, lat seat, row plate) - TBD, ordered at the same time but was made aware it will ship likely Mid-January. I am confident once it comes in, quality will match.
Overall - I would buy again
Overall, I’m impressed with the quality and performance of this equipment. I’ve trained in commercial gyms for over a decade—real gyms with free weights, power cages, chalked bars, and heavy use. I was skeptical at this price point because it almost seemed too good to be true, but after following Luke’s reviews and hype, I decided to pull the trigger. This was meant to replace my gym membership, and I can honestly say it will because these days I’m more focused on staying strong and healthy than chasing PRs. Though I do still love the sound of steel plates and not having to worry about the jcups or safety arms because they're rock solid!
The pros: great finish, heavy as hell, solid, smooth, and durable. The attachments are excellent, and the D-handles are actually better than my REP Fitness ones. I’m also very hard on J-cups and safeties, and I appreciate that these are included—other brands charge extra.
The cons: instructions could be better, not all necessary tools were included (still manageable), and I received a couple wrong parts. The owner is ensuring everything is resolved, that speaks volumes. That said, after using this trainer hard for a few weeks, I’m satisfied. If we ever move, this thing is staying in the basement and I’d buy another one without hesitation. I can't wait for when new attachments come out so I can further support this brand. Thanks for selling this tank of a unit at a very affordable price!
